Suzanne's Ricemellow Creme was featured today as a sample at Wegman's -- on multigrain bread with nut butter. Finally, a vegan version of Marshmallow Fluff! Suzanne's version, though, seems a little more wholesome, with its only ingredients being brown rice syrup, soy protein, natural gums, and natural flavors. Mmmmmm!
I love this stuff too. Best of all, I can make fluffernutter sandwiches for the kids! They love this new afternoon treat!

I know, I found this for the first time at my local natural food store during the winter and was soooo happy. I made Rice Krispie treats for the first time in years. I made them with the Erewhon Crispy Brown Rice Cereal to make it even a little more nutritious too. They didn't come out EXACTLY like the old recipe I remember but I loved them anyway.

ReplyDeleteI've never had fluff.. I grew up in Denver and Iowa, and I don't remember ever seeing it, but after moving to the East Coast it's all the rage here I guess. The elementery schools actually serve it with peanut butter as a "vegetarian option".. ggrrr..
I wonder if you could use this to make rice krispy treats?
I think Pangea and/or Vegan Essentials sells the Ricemellow Fluff.
