I don't think I've ever eaten those. My first thought is that they look sort of weird, which means I need to try them. Did you get them at a grocery store or a restaurant?
After 3 years of being vegan, I still cannot eat tofu like that. What are those weird-shaped things?
@Amanda - those weird-shaped things are slices of lotus root. How was the renkon (lotus root) prepared and seasoned? I have some in my fridge that I bought on impulse, but I haven't had any yet. Lotus root like that makes great tempura, by the way. But tempura is not particularly health-sustaining, is it? :)
