That's an interesting article. I don't know that I go so far as to seek out athletic physicians, but I definitely note it if it comes up in discussion that they are. I've tried to find a vegan general care physician, but haven't had much luck there (it's a hard thing to search for - but my town is small enough that word-of-mouth gets around pretty fast).
Very interesting. My physicial doesn't seem to have a clue about nutrition, let alone nutrition for athletes. I haven't invested much time in finding a new Dr (I'm much more of a grumbler). But, if you could find a way to market yourself as such, I bet the clients would come running. ha ha...running!
I actually just discovered your blog in my attempt to find a vegetarian or vegan-friendly general care physician in Los Angeles. There has got to be one out there, but I'm having a hard time tracking one down. I know that I'm not alone in the desire to find a doctor who would be informed about and accepting of my diet. If Dr. Shenkman or anyone posting/reading here knows off a veggie-friendly Los Angeles GP, please let me know! helen.jupiter *at* gmail Thank you!
I am an Interventional Cardiologist practicing in the Los Angeles area. I believe that lifestyle -- including diet and exercise -- are crucial parts of our health and well-being. Here, I share my insights on medicine, ideas and information about vegan diets, and my triathlon training adventures.
The statements and opinions on this blog are mine alone. They do not represent my practice or any other organization. Further, they are not a substitute for care from your own physician.

I defintely think patients seek out like minded individuals if they are athletes or veggies! Definitely something to think about if you advertise.
