My friend Dr. Krupali Tejura, a radiation oncology resident, submitted a question to Leroy Sievers, an NPR journalist who blogs about his fight against cancer. She asks what patients want from their doctors. The answers she gets are interesting. Read on.
It's great food for thought. If you don't know the answer to a question, you can always look it up. But personal interaction can't be replaced.

I have a question for you, why don't doctors make more use of topical anesthetics? I have an intense fear of having blood drawn (I avoid going to the doctor because of this) and I've never been offered anything to make it less uncomfortable. I know this is only tangentially related to your post. Sorry!
Great question. I don't know why, but what you are saying makes sense.
Saoirse, Est-ce que je peux voir ta blog???? Il dit que j'ai besoin d'une invite.
Right now I am using the blog to log personal stuff. I might start a public blog again soon though.
