Training on a Hot Day

It was 95 degrees today.

In order to get started with the training for the week, I swam for 45 minutes this morning in the pool. That actually felt good. Then, in the afternoon, I rode my bike for about an hour, at a leisurely 13 miles/hr pace, along the path of the Genessee River, and then on the Erie Canal out to the west side of town. My ice water at the beginning of the ride was lukewarm at the end.

I'm tired out.

Bet the water was wonderful!

we went for a long walk along kelly drive today with a big bottle of water. Two hours later, we were wishing we had put tea bags in our water bottle.

At least you went out. I commend you for that. :-) I spent the entire day (or pretty close to it) inside. I suppose it's probably for the best under the circumstances, but still...the pool sounds fabulous. Even for someone like me, who doesn't swim.

LOL, at urban vegan.

It has been horribly hot here, too. And humid. We took a half hour walk yesterday and I just felt wiped out. Riding is actually better than walking, you hav e breeze that way.

I thought about swimming, but my only option is a community pool, and it's always full of children.
